Got a call from a recruiter in mid-January 2025 for a Senior Software Engineer role.
Had the first technical phone screening round in the first week of February (2 easy/medium Leetcode-style questions); solved them in 30 minutes.
The loop rounds were scheduled in the first week of March:
All four rounds went near-perfect. I was able to solve/answer almost every question.
Received a rejection email the next day.
It was very surprising to receive a rejection email from the recruiter immediately, the day after the interview, on a weekend.
I guess the position might have already been filled, but they still went with the loop interviews, as I feel there was no reason for me to get rejected based on my interview experience.
Maybe next time, the recruiter should take the effort to inform prior if the position has already been filled, or maybe match the candidate with other suitable alternative openings if available.
