I applied for a development job advertised as requiring broad development skills. My resume shows me as an experienced engineer and also highlights my educational background.
I was invited to a phone interview with screen sharing, where I was supposed to implement a specific, artificial functionality. The interviewer expected one particular approach, and the entire interview then revolved around me not having his idea.
He proceeded to ask a few basic CS questions about my approach, but apparently lost interest in me early in the process.
