Software Engineer Interview Experience - Canada

Process

The process was the usual three stages for a software engineering role:

  • Recruiter call
  • Phone interview (a fairly straightforward, non-LeetCode question)
  • Full-day virtual onsite, consisting of:
    • Another non-LeetCode question (pretty straightforward)
    • System design
    • Bug squash (they provide a codebase and you find the bug)
    • "Integration" (basically another non-LeetCode question, but done via a web API)
    • Manager round

Most of the rounds went pretty well, but one of them went pretty badly. It seems like they ghosted me afterward.

Questions

Phone interview: How do you build an "accept-language" parser with region/language/wildcard filtering?
