Pros: A lot of new problems to solve.
Cutting-edge technologies.
Cons: The architects over-engineer a lot of time and later confess to learning it the hard way.
A lot of internal politics happens when the team settles. Once the real problems are solved, they just need to maintain software, so they can get low-paid employees and degrading the culture makes that possible without layoffs.
