I applied online. The process took 2 weeks.
The process was rather straightforward. There were three interviews:
- First one with the HR with some preliminary checks
- Followed by a take-home challenge, which was designed in an open-ended manner, so there is no one solution, but is intended to check candidate's understanding in multiple areas
- That was followed by a technical interview call which went deep into my experience and the design decisions of the challenge
- Final call was with the CTO with more insights into the role, the bigger picture, and the future of the company

Pros: Synthesia is a genuinely exciting place to work. The pace is fast — you ship real things quickly, learn constantly, and never feel stuck in bureaucracy. The environment is friendly and collaborative; colleagues are smart, supportive, and easy to work with, and leadership is approachable. There is great energy across teams, and you can see the direct impact of your work on the product.
Cons: Priorities can shift frequently as the company moves quickly to respond to the market. Sometimes projects get reprioritized mid-stream, which can be frustrating if you like long, uninterrupted roadmaps — and you need to be comfortable with change.
