I have been with Target for a total of 5 years.
I was hired as a Team Leader and have since been promoted to a Senior Team Leader.
It took me 2 interview sessions—each including 3 interviews with 2 people in each—before I was offered the position.
I have also since then done one "practice" ETL interview, which is really just to make you think you're going to get a promotion, then they forget about you completely.
All of the questions they ask you in each interview are very situational.
Your promotion is based entirely on how you answer your questions; forget about all of your previous work experience and all the hard work you have done for the company.
You are the only LOD in the building. Your cash office called in, there's a back-up at the front end, a team member calls for a "code yellow," and the Group Team Leader just walked in the door. How would you prioritize?
The thing that shocked me the most during my interview was that when the DTL interviewed me, the last question she asked was to "rate" all the ETLs in my building in order—who did the best to who had the most "opportunities." Very awkward.
