After that, a recruiter contacted me to set up an in-person interview. I had applied for a different location, and the recruiter stated that the position at my preferred location was no longer available. They offered me an interview at another location for the same role.
Upon arriving for the interview, I had to stand in the way of shopping customers for 15 minutes while waiting for the interviewer. He eventually arrived and seemed uninterested in conducting the interview, appearing very dry.
The store director, who had called to set up the interview, informed me that I would speak with him after my interview with his colleague. The colleague appeared confused and stated this usually doesn't happen, then left the room, presumably to call the director. He returned two minutes later and claimed he meant if I reached the 'third round' – a discrepancy from what the director had said.
The person I interviewed with was not very pleasant and seemed annoyed that he had to interview me. This, combined with waiting in the store while customers shopped around me for 15 minutes with no designated waiting area, left a bad impression.
