Software Engineer Interview Experience

Process

I applied for two different software development positions at Target Corporate offices. The first time, I sent my availability to a recruiter and never heard back. There was no confirmation of a date that would work, no interview, and no replies to my follow-up emails. This was a year ago.

I was still interested in Target, so I applied again a year later. I received an email from a different recruiter. We agreed upon a date and time. When the time came, I received no call from her, so I sent an email asking why. It turned out they had scheduled it for the wrong day by accident. Accidents happen, and I was understanding. We agreed on another date. She was very nice in her emails.

The next day came, and still no call. She stated she could not reach my phone (which was odd). She then mentioned she had a meeting, so I offered to call her later that day at an agreed-upon time. I called her multiple times at the agreed time and 10 minutes after, in case she was running late. I left a voicemail and sent an email asking if we should reschedule.

I have not heard back from Target since. Their recruiters appear to be incompetent at their very basic jobs. I cannot get past a phone screen and am surprised they hire software engineers at all.
