The process was fast and enjoyable. After my initial debrief with a very friendly HR representative about my experiences and why I was interested in Target, she set me up with a ~30-minute phone call with one of the technical leads, who was also very friendly.
That phone interview was similar to my conversation with the HR representative, but more technical. She wasn't drilling technical questions, but rather asking questions like, "What was your most challenging project?" As I explained it, she would ask follow-up questions like, "Why did you do this?"
After that phone interview, I was offered an onsite interview. This was enjoyable because they paid for my flight and hotel to stay in Minneapolis. I had to complete a coding challenge the night before my interview, which was a significant challenge for the allotted time. Personally, I thought I bombed it, but it's all about showing them how you code and how you think.
The next day, about 10 or 15 other candidates and I showed up for our TLP interviews. I met some great people, and we had a fun day.
You get two short interviews with technical leads, which are more technical discussion questions, making them generally easy. Then, you spend the rest of the day eating and talking with engineers to see if you like the program.
