Long hours and decent pay, working for Target certainly has its ups and downs, but is overall a solid company to work for

Pros

Good benefits and starting pay.

The HR department is always readily available to answer any questions.

Room for career growth and the ability to transfer around the country if needed.

Cons

Long hours are required, and I often have to work late nights. Weekends off are every other week. The work environment can be rather cliquey when you come in as a new hire.

Advice to Management

Shrink expected working hours by at least one hour or increase pay. There is no need for a ten-hour workday at Target. Shorter days will lead to happier, more energized, and more productive employees. Actively look for employee ideas. There are people who have been working for the company in-store for many years and run their stores more effectively by going against protocol.
