Had the recruiter reached out to me almost immediately after I applied to set up an initial call, I would have responded back. However, it took the recruiter about a week to eventually get back to me, stating he was away unexpectedly.

I finally had the screening call with the recruiter, and he did not share much about the company or the position. I basically had to pry him for the standard information usually given by recruiters in these interviews. Instead of telling me about the position, he basically wanted me to look at the job posting again and let him know if I had any questions, and that was basically the bulk of the interview.

He also did not tell me what the next steps were. Not surprisingly, I never heard back from him again.

It seems quite lazy of the recruiter, and it didn't seem like he made an effort in seriously conducting the call. I'm not really sure why they decided to do the call in the first place, but I'm guessing maybe there was a certain quota of calls he needed to reach.
