Firmware Engineer Interview Experience - Fremont, California

May 1, 2017
Negative ExperienceNo Offer

Process

Contacted by HR.

Pre-screening, then a 90-minute online coding interview in CoderPad, followed by an on-site interview.

The coding interview is a stress test with a gun pointed to your head, using somewhat confusing/unclear task descriptions. The interviewer was technically trivial and ignorant.

Questions

The celestialS data structure represents celestial bodies in the solar system. However, this structure is consuming too much space on an x86 system. How can the celestialS structure be modified to require 8 bytes or fewer for storage without losing fidelity in any of its members?
