HR contacted me via LinkedIn and scheduled a F2F interview the very next day. I didn't get much time to prepare. There were 3 people who interviewed me. The first 2 were purely technical. They began with knowing my work experience (I came from a power electronics background) and my circuit of choice. They both asked a few design questions on my circuit, and then took the course of the interview from my experience to their expectations. The 3rd person was mostly behavioral. They asked me about my role in the previous company, my expectations, and the profile of the job for which I was interviewing.
A 12V, 20A DC power supply is connected to a 20µH inductor and a 1 ohm resistor at t=0. What is the steady-state current in the inductor?
What are the types of capacitors? What do X7R and X5R in MLCC capacitors mean?
24V is connected to the drain of an NMOS, and the source is connected to ground via R. V_t = 2V. What gate voltage is required (wrt ground) to turn on the MOSFET?
If R = 22 ohms, what is the current and power loss through the MOSFET?
If the junction-to-ambient thermal resistance of the MOSFET is 44 °C/W, what will be the temperature of the MOSFET at this power?
How much temperature should the MOSFET be allowed to reach?
