Pros
  1. Technical knowledge among coworkers is there; tap into it on your own.
  2. The size of the company lends itself to opportunities to move within the organization.
  3. Internal diversity organizations can help you build your personal network.
  4. Diverse roles and expectations exist per PE/TE depending on your group.
Cons

Advancement and opportunities are more dependent on your timing (joining the group), mentorship (find one), your soft skills (likeability, communication, appearance), and your internal management's capability to advocate your skills, rather than your technical skills and work ethic alone. It's a very inaccurate expectation to think that performance and hard work alone pay off in any corporate culture. This is not a TI-specific "con"; it's a hard lesson for all employees of any larger corporation.

Advice to Management

Take more ownership in developing your people's skillsets and getting to know their personal strengths and weaknesses. This can greatly benefit or hurt the success of your team and the dynamics of the organization.
