Pros

TI overall is a good company with good policies.

Highly experienced Hardware/system engineers in Dallas.

TI, Dallas is a good place to work, and there is a good scope for learning.

Cons

TI, Bangalore software doesn't operate like a product R&D company; it runs like any ordinary consulting company.

Too many hierarchies.

Smart political guys want to be a Lead/Boss quickly so that their pay/recognition will be more, and work will be less.

This kind of management is mediocre to very ordinary.

Work-life balance is impossible.

Not a place for good technical people.

Attrition used to be very high. Now it is probably less; mediocre management ensures that they recruit mediocre people.

Pay is average.

Advice to Management

For the software team in Bangalore, effort should be given not to get work done in a consultancy mode. Let each and every team member feel that they are an integral part of product development. Bring capable, experienced people from outside into management and revamp the existing consulting mode of operation. Form a quality team of experienced people for recruiting new hires.
