Pros

At the location I worked, there was a great team dynamic and a general feeling of support from your teammates. The cash register software is easy to use, and the mandatory employee training videos aren't too unbearable. Pay is higher than minimum wage. The dress code is very relaxed; you can wear anything within reason as long as you also have the apron on.

Cons

During peak times (such as Spring, when the weather clears up and all the DIYers are out in full force), it can get very hectic very quickly in the Garden section if your store is understaffed.

It doesn't help when some customers are snooty, impatient, and angry at you, and then some fine folks whip out their checkbook at the front of a 20-person line. Yeah, honestly. Like it is 1955!

Advice to Management

Please continue (or start, at some locations) to recognize the great work that your employees do. It keeps up morale. Really, any organization should strive for this.
