They cultivate their staff. You're a part-time garden associate but want to be a department head? Cool, they have programs and classes you can take to learn and grow into the position.
They have success sharing, a Homer Fund for helping associates in need, and a fun fund for celebrating associates. Home Depot awards safety and good customer service.
It's a fun environment, and their claims of 'we're a family here' truly feel that way. The store manager leads by example; you'll find them working alongside associates and helping customers. For retail, I've never worked for a better company.
Unfortunately, there are some long days.
Staffing is an issue right now due to the pandemic. People aren't really applying, which causes a chain reaction, meaning existing employees pick up the slack. I think if we can fix that issue, I wouldn't have a con to list.
Keep up the great work! We appreciate you working alongside us through this.
Called phone line and was screened by an agent who asked 3 questions. The hiring process was very long. I waited many weeks before getting any contact after I applied online.
Phone screen, the phone interview (4 or 5 questions). Then in-person interview with assistant manager (6 questions from a packet). I was told internal candidates are picked first, but I was #1 for external. I got a call the next day to interview w
They make it super easy and comfortable. It doesn't feel unnatural, which makes it easier to be yourself. I interviewed twice. Once to get my first position in the flooring department, and another time to get my supervisor position.
