I manage cashiers, lot associates, and office associates in a diverse and fun store. My responsibilities include driving credit for the store, associate engagement, merchandising, upkeep of registers and computers, training and coaching, and disseminating company information as it relates to the front-end associates.
It's difficult having conversations with all 30 people under my direct supervision, especially when so many are part-time associates. We have paper training tracking, which gets the job done, but I prefer the give and take of conversations so I can answer questions as soon as they arise.
Set up bimonthly or quarterly front-end meetings.
Called phone line and was screened by an agent who asked 3 questions. The hiring process was very long. I waited many weeks before getting any contact after I applied online.
Straightforward, normal interview questions. Requires just one interview, then orientation. Fairly easy hiring process. You get to meet your supervisor, HR, managers, and take a tour of the building.
They make it super easy and comfortable. It doesn't feel unnatural, which makes it easier to be yourself. I interviewed twice. Once to get my first position in the flooring department, and another time to get my supervisor position.
