Company culture is great, with lots of recognition for associates. It can be a fun place to work.
It all depends on the store you work at and how management is. Some of mine were great. Some were awful.
It's hard being a department head. There's lots of pressure to succeed. They treated me differently because I didn’t desire to be salaried like all the other department heads who were sucking up all the time to get promoted.
Not a good work-life balance at all. The schedule sucks.
Treat all dept heads equally and with respect. Don’t play favorites. Buddy up with some and ignore others when they’re looking for help or guidance on something.
Also, hold all associates accountable equally, no matter race, gender, or how much you favor them for getting credit. If they’re not being respectful and behave terribly towards customers, leadership, and everyone else in the building, then they need to be held accountable for it.
The interview process is short. You receive two interviews, and it takes about a week to receive a callback. It takes about a week to get an interview after submitting an application.
Called phone line and was screened by an agent who asked 3 questions. The hiring process was very long. I waited many weeks before getting any contact after I applied online.
Straightforward, normal interview questions. Requires just one interview, then orientation. Fairly easy hiring process. You get to meet your supervisor, HR, managers, and take a tour of the building.
