Great company to work for. A lot of autonomy, and Scrum meetings to stay focused and establish goals as a team.
My contract to hire was supposed to be 3 months long. Since the initial interview, they liked my work and decided to hire me full-time. Three months became four, with the excuse that paperwork takes time to fill. Two days before the end of my extended contract, my manager announced that the position would be in Atlanta (mandatory) instead of Austin, where most of my team is, and that they were looking for someone for back-end only.
Don't mislead your contractors. Announce changes of plan at least 2 weeks before the contract ends, not 2 days.
Included a group interview and a one-on-one interview. For the group interview, they were looking for someone who could work collaboratively with the team members. It was not a super hard interview.
It was an Internship Day. There were about 20 other students from a variety of schools. There were two interviews with some Senior members of The Home Depot team. There was plenty of time to talk with previous interns and some other senior employees
The interview process was very smooth, with great communication. There was a technical round interview as well as a SIG interview, which was essentially behavioral and past experience-based. A positive experience all around.
