Applied online and became really interested in the company after doing research on it.
Got contacted by a recruiter who offered an online coding test.
Received an email with a link to HackerRank. The test was to sort characters in a string.
Provided a one-liner solution (C# + Linq) and passed all tests within the HackerRank system.
Notified the recruiter but never heard back.
Decided to follow up some time later and received a response that looked very generic. It stated that the team took an extensive effort to analyze all aspects of my solution and found that it didn't meet their requirements. :)
