Backend Software Engineer Interview Experience

Process

I applied online, and the recruiter reached out for my availability and scheduled the first two rounds. I was informed that the second interview would be dependent on the first. My recruiter then left TikTok, and my case was assigned to someone else.

I believe the new recruiter shifted my calls by mistake, causing some confusion that resulted in me being tagged as "Candidate No Show." I sent multiple emails to clarify, and my interviews were rescheduled. It was quite frustrating.

The first interview happened and went very well. I was confident in explaining my projects and completed the coding question well ahead of time, providing correct time and space complexity. Later, I received an email stating I had been rejected, but the invite to the second interview had not been canceled like it was earlier. Therefore, I still showed up prepared, but no interviewer appeared. I emailed my recruiter, and they informed me that the team had decided to go with another candidate without providing any feedback.
