Worst company to work at
Software Engineer • Former Employee
San Jose, California, United States
May 1, 2025
Pros: No pros... maybe free food.
Cons: Too many cons, especially for engineering teams. 99% of the company is Chinese and can't even speak English. It's hard to get along with people there because they only speak Chinese. And because of that, the work culture sucks too.
Sometimes working from 9 am to 2 am for a couple of weeks only to have the manager say crap like, "Trying your best isn't enough. You still have to finish on time." There is no work-life balance at TikTok as a software engineer, maybe just the Ads team, but yeah. That's the worst.
