Software Engineer Intern Interview Experience - Newton, Massachusetts
Process
Met a company employee at a university recruiting night.
Stuck around afterward and handed my resume to the employee.
The employee boasted about the work culture, describing it as laid-back and easy-going.
They took my resume and sent an email the next day about a phone interview.
Had one phone interview, and it was brief. The interviewer was extremely rude, repeatedly telling me I didn't know enough because I hadn't taken the class, even though I repeatedly answered the questions correctly.

Tripadvisor Work Experiences
- 4.0Great Culture and PeopleSoftware Engineer Intern • Former EmployeeJuly 29, 2020Pros: Extremely talented and passionate people, who you'll be working with at the company. Perks such as free lunch every day of the week and an office gym are fantastic too.Cons: In my opinion, there is a high degree of power distance at the company that management should address.
- 3.0Perks, But Boring Enterprise WorkSoftware Engineer • Current EmployeeNewton, Massachusetts, United StatesJune 10, 2013Pros: Lots of random perks. Pretty relaxed office.Cons: Much of the work was rather boring. The feel of the office was like it was still trying to be a cool startup when it really is just a corporate enterprise.
- 5.0A great experienceSoftware Engineering Intern • Former EmployeeNewton, Massachusetts, United StatesNovember 8, 2011Pros: Good pay, friendly coworkers, really good lunches provided, interesting tech talks by fellow employees weekly, and a yearly week where you can work on your own projects.Cons: Company growing pains, so we have to deal with a large codebase. Some people (full-time employees) are overworked, as they have the most knowledge of the system, and everyone goes to them for advice.
