A recruiter reached out to me and set up a technical phone screen with the manager. The phone screen involved a simple coding question and some questions testing my data structure knowledge.

Afterwards, I was sent a take-home assignment to complete within 24 hours.

I was then brought in for an on-site interview at their headquarters two weeks later. The on-site interview consisted of three technical interviews and lunch with the manager.

Given a sorted array of distinct integers, such as [-1, 0, 2, 7, 9], return an integer where the index matches the value it contains.

On TripAdvisor's website for hotels, 15 million clicks are made on hotels each day, and there are 1 million distinct hotels. We would like to display urgency messages when a user clicks on a hotel.

If more than 10 user clicks for a specific hotel occur in the past 10 minutes, display a message to the user saying, "10 other users have looked at this hotel in the past 10 minutes." (This aims to create a sense of urgency.)

If there are no more than 10 user clicks in the past 10 minutes, check the past hour. Display a message if there are more than 10 clicks in that period.

If there are still no more than 10 user clicks in the past hour, check the past 24 hours. Display a message if there are more than 10 user clicks.

Otherwise, display no message.
