Cons: Junior-ish environment (lots of junior engineers). As a junior engineer, you'll grow slowly and get mentoring from a few average engineers considered "gurus". No upfront OKR setting for personalized professional and career development. No cutting-edge tech, or even the "right tool for the right job." Get ready to work on legacy systems with outdated tech stacks. Way too many ceremonies and meetings, whereas a developer, you don't get involved in product definition anyway, hence being just a code monkey. Get ready to blindly follow all the company's core values and do endless workshops about that. Software/Process quality is not a thing. Remember, we are in a mass-production feature factory with lots of junior devs, some "gurus" around, and an outdated tech stack. No bonus scheme. Lots of bureaucracy and office politics.

Pros: Cool people, international, young team, everyone is motivated. High flexibility on working times, setup, etc. Still 3 days a week in office though. Several benefits, like sports and activities, etc. Easy way to move around positions and switch context. Potential for students & juniors to get started, have a career, and grow.

Cons: Recently, the strategy has been adapted several times, which can lead to frustration. Also, be prepared for re-structuring; they come frequently. Usually, there's a good reason, but it still disrupts people in their setup. Salary is okayish, but you can get more out there in the market.

Pros: Coffee, fruit, cereal. Unlimited vacation time. Company trips.

Cons: Since I started almost 4 years ago, the company went from an entire building to now only 2 floors of that building. We were about 1,000 employees; now the number is somewhere in the 600s. The culture kitchen and barista bar was also ours, but now was given to the owner of the building. People with high qualifications and tenure are being laid off and replaced with students and cheap labor. Someone I know who was intelligent and worked hard was not given the permanent contract after 2 years, but was replaced with an intern instead. Almost no one got raises this year. We all feel like the end of Trivago is near. So much of it is already dead.
