I applied online. The process took about four weeks.
First, they sent me a link to do a video interview, which was a different and challenging experience. Then, I went through two Skype interviews. The interviews were fun, friendly, and relaxed. I really liked the company's style and the employees' personalities.
The only thing that flipped my whole experience to the negative side was HR and how they handled the post-interview situation. They sent me a very generic rejection email without any reasons why I didn't get the position. When I asked very politely why, they replied that they are too busy handling 400,000 applications a year and have no time for individual feedback. I think this could be improved for Trivago. After all, applicants spend effort and time on the process as much as the company does.
