Process

I applied online and a recruiter reached out to me. The interview process consisted of:

  • Zoom screen (no camera)
  • Hiring manager behavioral interview
  • Executive interview for fit

The recruiter screen was easy; you could tell the recruiter was uninterestedly looking for the right vocab and a sense of technical knowledge. I just asked questions about the company’s projects and knew my work.

The hiring manager interview was very laid-back. The guy didn’t even ask about the presentation I was supposed to have prepared about a project I did until I asked him. There were just questions about my resume and experiences, and no technical questions at all (he said, "You’re an intern, no need to check if you can program, I trust you").

The hiring manager said I got the role guaranteed and would pass the executive interview easily. A week goes by and I contact the recruiter, who says they’re still deliberating? Another two weeks, and I get a standard rejection email. This company is unprofessional and dishonest.
