Cloud Engineer Interview Experience

Process

Horrible interview process.

I was told multiple positions were available. A week later, during my interview, the hiring manager never asked me any questions related to the position. I asked for a status update by email after the interview and had to send multiple messages before I received a response. I felt like a backup candidate, and they did not take me seriously as a qualified applicant.

When they finally provided a status update, I learned they had already made an offer to another candidate the same day, before my interview. This felt like a waste of my time with unrelated questions, lack of engagement, and going through the motions just to say another candidate accepted their offer.

Recommendations:

  • Do not list multiple positions as available when there are none on the job requisition.
  • If you are considering other candidates, please make that known before or at the beginning of the interview.
  • Take qualified candidates seriously if you think you might need a backup.
