Senior Software Engineer - Identity Team Interview Experience

Process

First round: HR - Basic resume, "Why Twilio?"

Second round: Hiring Manager - In my case, as a new grad, I was expecting resume or standard algorithmic questions, but the interviewer was very team and role-specific. It was more about building APIs, and they went in-depth. This felt irrelevant.

Questions

API Design:

  • Have you ever made an API?
  • How will you know if an API is live and someone is consuming your API?
  • Integrate a third-party API between two live APIs.
  • Post-production code issue handling.

Overall, I felt they don't shortlist according to the role. The interview revolved around the team and JD specifics, not generalized algorithmic questions.
