I currently work as a Senior Software Test Engineer at my company. However, my wife is active duty military and she is about to be stationed elsewhere, so I decided to apply for jobs near our new station. I was hopeful about Twilio. I applied and was contacted to take a test on HackerRank.
There were 8 questions, 2 of which were coding questions. They seemed pretty straightforward and relatively easy. However, we were transitioning from the base, so I wasn’t really settled or focused enough to take practice tests. Also, HackerRank was not as intuitive as I had hoped, and as such, I couldn’t find the second coding question for some reason.
Either way, I didn’t pass the test. I was contacted that they’d be going ahead with other candidates. However, my overall experience was pleasant.
The recruiter was exceptional and nice in her approach. As much as I would like to work at this company, I don’t think there will be other opportunities for me here. I hope they find the right candidate, and I hope I find a job around our new station because I’m about to be out of a job soon. Here’s to hope!
