Awesome experience with a remotely conducted interview.
The overall process took around two weeks and was amazingly smooth, prepared, and conducted.
First, I had a short call (approximately 30 minutes) with a technical sourcer. They explained the position the company was hiring for and what they expected from a Staff Software Engineer.
As a pre-course, I received an easy-to-medium HackerRank test. It included a small coding task (similar to LeetCode Easy), a SQL query task, and a couple of open-ended questions regarding system design.
The main part consisted of three technical sessions spread across three consecutive days. There were two back-to-back sessions each day (approximately 45 to 60 minutes each).
These sessions included:
I didn't get the offer, but the most exciting part came afterward. We had another session with HR, where I received honest and transparent feedback regarding the whole process and the gaps I should fill in, should there be potential future collaboration.
Overall, it was an amazing experience, extremely well-organized and implemented by the hiring team, and of course, with a "post-mortem" feedback session as the cherry on top.
