Senior Software Engineer Interview Experience - San Francisco, California

Process

The interview process was hectic and disorganized, though the people conducting the interviews were great. Double bookings in rooms led to us moving from one room to another, trying to find a free one.

The questions ranged from interpersonal to architectural and computer science theory. The coding test was really annoying and not at all like the phone screening had described. They took questions from "Cracking the Coding Interview."

Questions

Given a string input, create a function that will output a compressed version of the string.

E.g. Input = "AAABBZZDDD", Output = "A3B2Z2D3"

What's a project that you worked on which failed, and could you have done anything to prevent its failure?
