Process

I was contacted by a recruiter via email (I'm unsure how they obtained my address). Following a phone interview where we coded on Codepad, they scheduled an onsite interview.

The onsite process was a half-day event, comprising four to five rounds of interviews. It began early in the morning and concluded around lunchtime. As a senior software engineer, I found the interview questions were not specifically tailored for senior-level candidates. I encountered a few coding questions and one design question. During the final round, an engineering manager simply chatted with me throughout the session. For some coding questions, I had to write on a whiteboard, while for others, I was permitted to use my own laptop. I have always disliked coding on a whiteboard.

At the end of the interviews, I assumed I would be responsible for my own lunch. However, the recruiter took me to the kitchen for a complimentary meal. The food quality was not exceptional.

They provided free Uber rides to and from their offices, which was a convenient perk. The promotion code, however, was confusingly presented.

I appreciated that the interview only took half a day. I took an Uber back to my town and was able to work for the remainder of the day.

Questions

How to recognize whether it is a banana or an apple in an image. Implement a short URL server. Design a real-time service architecture. Some other questions that I don't remember now.

The questions were not hard. I think they valued more about my background and passion.
