I had a positive discussion with the recruiter. They told me I needed to implement one of the challenges on their GitHub page. I clearly explained that my experience is mostly in Java, and I have always developed desktop applications. I spent 60 hours on the assignment, as I am not a web developer. They reviewed it for only 5 minutes and did not even set up a technical interview.
Questions
Implement one of the challenges from the Uber code challenge GitHub page and submit the answer with the solution hosted on a cloud service like AWS.

A lot of interesting people to work with.

Pros: I am still surprised how much impact I get to add to Uber and its mission to reinvent the workforce of today with technology. Right now, it's transportation, and I'm extremely proud of our values in delivering the absolute best transport with the best service and software.
The engineering culture is fantastic. It's very meticulous in design and architecture and an absolute execution machine when it comes to pulling things together. There's no place else I'd rather be right now.
Cons: It is tough seeing the PR of the company portrayed in the media swinging from good to bad constantly. Once the company matures a little in the market, it will make it all the more sweeter.
