Senior Software Engineer Interview Experience - San Francisco, California

Process

Extremely disorganized.

The first recruiter rescheduled a call minutes after it was supposed to have started. She selected a new time and told me she would call me then; I had to move some things around to make it work.

On the phone, the first recruiter sounded like a bored, tired robot reading from a script. I decided to move forward because I thought it was just a bad recruiter.

The first technical phone screen was fine, with very little dialogue.

Then I made it to the onsite and was passed over to another recruiter. He was really nice. We scheduled the onsite, but then they had to reschedule it.

They gave me an Uber code to use the morning of the onsite, but then the morning of the onsite, the code did not work.

At the onsite, everyone was friendly, but the disorganization was pervasive. My last interviewer did not show up, and the recruiter was emailing me to tell me about it, as if I'm checking my email during an onsite.

Someone replaced the last interviewer 15 minutes late.

After the onsite, I heard back pretty quickly, but the next steps were poorly executed. I was told the VP approval would take 24-48 hours max, yet it took almost an entire week. I had to email each day to follow up because I had other companies waiting.

There was little room for negotiation with their offer.

I rejected the offer a few weeks ago, and yet I am still getting reminder emails to accept my offer from their automated system.

Overall, it was a very disorganized experience.
