Process

I applied online. After about two months, I got an email from the recruiter, and I had a brief call in which they asked me about my background and my motivation for joining Uber.

After that call, I had a one-hour-long 1:1 interview with the engineering manager, who asked me again about my motivation for joining Uber and some technical questions.

Questions

How would you design a system that, using a mobile app, shows the user the n closest points of interest? Assuming you are not using any database that supports spatial operations, how would you find the n closest points? How should the components (backend/applications) communicate?

Considering the Android OS, what are Handler and Looper? Are they related?
