Process

The process was very fast, and I was really happy with the overall experience.

There was one phone round with the manager; she found me on LinkedIn. I then went through a technical phone screen.

I was called onsite 15 minutes after ending the technical phone screen, and my onsite was scheduled for the day after tomorrow.

My onsite consisted of 5 rounds:

Coding
Design
Testing
Manager
Bar raiser

The very next day, I was given an offer and accepted it. I did not negotiate.

Pros: - The company is still growing fast and has lots of potential in areas like auto-driving cars. - There are always new projects to work on. Most of the time, it is hard to decide what to work on next since there are so many choices.

Cons: Organizational direction changes constantly. Uber seems to have a good vision about the long-term mission, but down to specific projects in the engineering department, chaos is present all over the place. Politics and internal friction are increasing as company culture somehow encourages aggressiveness. You need to know how to fight for yourself, even if you are just an engineer.
