Software Engineer Interview Experience - Lithuania

Process

After submitting my CV, I received an invitation for an interview. Following that, I had to complete a technical task within 60 minutes, which included two coding exercises. After successfully completing the task, I was invited to three further interviews: two technical coding interviews and one HR interview.

The technical interviews were enjoyable, and the interviewers were very friendly. In the HR interview, the interviewer asked extensively about my projects and did not inquire about my personality or aspirations. The interviewer shared many opinions about my projects, and it felt more like a discussion.

Overall, I considered the difficulty to be medium. However, what was truly unacceptable was that after these four interviews, I was informed they would decide whether I got the position. Ultimately, I received an email stating they wanted to discuss the feedback from the interviews. Naturally, I assumed I would receive an offer, as there would be no reason to schedule a meeting simply to inform me of a rejection. Nevertheless, I joined the meeting believing I had received the offer, only to be told about my shortcomings and that I did not get the position. I was very disheartened and did not understand the purpose of this final meeting. It was certainly not a pleasant experience.
