I applied online. The process took 2 months.

It was a never-ending interview process with 8 steps.

The first interview was to design an API for scheduling meetings. There was some conversation about past experience, but it didn't seem like they cared. They just expect you to implement a perfect solution in 45 minutes in a LeetCode style.

Pros: The salary is good, and the internal tools we use are excellent.

Cons: The demand is great. It's not atypical that some days of the week we don't even have time for lunch. Recently, they have been asking people who had remote contracts to return to the office. They are also changing the period to be eligible for sabbatical from 5 years to 8 years. Both changes are illegal in Brazil, but they are happening anyway (Uber standard).

Pros: Getting a foot inside Uber has been the best move of my career. The work has been rewarding and there are plenty of opportunities for growth within the company. Uber has put a priority on career advancement. We are encouraged to seek opportunities within the organization. Work-life balance and quality of life have greatly improved with remote work, and there will be a flexible schedule when we return to the office.

Cons: Attrition rates have been an issue. Year-over-year salary increases are not enough. Talented workers get their well-deserved raises by leaving to work for competitors across the street. People are using the fact that they work for a well-known brand to land better offers elsewhere. Seeing "X-Uber" on people's LinkedIn profiles has become the norm.
