Pros
  • Well paying
  • Professional, multi-cultural teams
  • Many things to learn
  • Building new, disruptive products
Cons

The way the features are distributed among teams makes it very hard to create cross-cutting features with many permissions, code reviews, and meetings.

Many of the projects do not seem to have a good ROI, which impacts the annual evaluation.

Although they don't force you to work long hours, the fact that the development tools and internal processes are awful forces you to work overtime and even on weekends to meet deadlines.

Advice to Management

Grocery has some very basic problems, which can be summarized as pricing and the correct availability of items.

The promotion teams are expanding very quickly, which could lead to huge layoffs in a couple of years due to low ROI.
