The process was as close to perfect as possible. I was contacted about a role for which I was a good fit. The interview process immediately started with a call about the role and why I was a desirable candidate. As I was very interested in seeing where this would go, five additional interviews were scheduled, each lasting one hour.
The interviews went very smoothly. The interviewers were knowledgeable about their areas of expertise, as well as about Unity Technologies in general. All my questions were easily answered.
Three of the interviews were more technical, posing a coding or architectural problem that I needed to solve. Finding the "perfect" or "best" answer to these types of questions is not normally what is expected; much more important is a logical and smart line of reasoning for how you would rationalize a solution, and an explanation of why you made those choices. This was definitely the approach taken here. I really appreciate that kind of approach to technical interviews.
I also appreciated that there were no abstract or bizarre questions, such as, "If you could be any kitchen appliance, what would you be?". All of the questions asked were pertinent and useful.
Furthermore, the interviewers were very personable, and we ended up having fun and relaxed chats about various things once we finished discussing professional matters.
All in all, the experience could not have been better. The whole interview process took a little over a week.
General questions about how I would be a good culture fit, along with discussion about my technical experiences.
