Pros: Good perks. * Free lunch * Challenging projects

Cons: This is my personal experience. Management is looking for someone who can work 24/7. Planning and organization are really bad. Communication between the team members is not very good. The company believes in individual work rather than working as a team. It's good for most parts, but it's hard to collaborate for major projects.

Pros: Typical benefits of a Bay Area tech company. Not a whole lot, really. Interesting work will only get you so far.

Cons: Let's see, where should I start. Work-life balance? Nope. I don't know how others get their WLB. They're probably not in engineering. I know for a fact that it's a big FAT lie. Don't be surprised if you get messaged late at night for trivial things like: "Hey, how come your bug fix A isn't working in staging?" I had a very negative compensation review experience with my manager. We had an agreed-upon increase, but my actual increase was way lower than promised. Very disappointing. I also know a couple of recent hires who were promised managerial positions got positioned as individual contributors as a result of team re-shuffling. Apparently, after talking to my colleagues, this bait-and-switch strategy is not uncommon. Measly stock options and compensation. You are expected to work hard until late night and on weekends, but don't expect that you are going to be rewarded for it. Overall, I wish I had not joined this organization.

Pros: Lots of freedom to do what we want.

Cons: Average salary. Below average, really.
