During the technical screen round, you’re tasked with working on two exercises.
Initially, I was unaware of this requirement. Consequently, I attempted to complete the first part in a longer time frame and discussed in detail with the interviewer about edge cases, which unfortunately prevented me from finishing the second part.
It seemed the interviewer wanted me to implement DFS using a stack instead of a recursive function. However, my recursive approach almost worked, and the interviewer acknowledged that we could complete the second part with a few more minutes. Regrettably, I received the rejection email the same day.
This suggests that Vanta prioritized a complete solution over understanding the thought process. Additionally, it’s disappointing that Vanta prefers candidates to solve Leetcode problems rather than engaging with real-world problems. I am deeply disappointed with the company’s interview process.
Stupid LeetCode problem. Using a recursive function or DFS should solve the problem.
