The general software engineering questions would have been straightforward if conducted by competent interviewers.
One interviewer was excellent. He facilitated a conversational experience while maintaining the challenge, allowing me to solve the problem quickly with time left for questions. The other two general software engineering interviewers were incompetent.
One interviewer dropped expletives when he realized he had misstated the problem, and we ran out of time. I was blamed for this and received a failing mark. The other interviewer failed me despite my objectively correct, unprompted, and fully optimized solution within the allotted time. I suspect he was not paying attention.
Given this is a Google company, the level of incompetence was surprising, to say the least.
Avoid this experience if possible.
