I had stated my compensation expectations on the telephonic screening round when it was asked by the HR.
After that, I had two rounds of interview, which I cleared.
After that, I got a call from HR to submit my personal documents.
When I received the offer letter, it was much less than the expectation which I had quoted.
On having a discussion with the HR, I was told that they need a counter-offer to prove what I was asking, and then they would be ready to match my expectations.
In the current market scenario, when a candidate is serious to join an organization, they are not being valued. Verizon wants a candidate to ditch an offer in hand, and then they would be interested in the candidate. My question is, if a candidate can ditch one company, then they can very well ditch your company too and request a better offer from a third company.
Please value candidates who want to join your organization and be transparent in terms of compensation. Please don’t keep changing your words.
