Pros: Verizon Wireless is a very diverse company and has a strong network team, with several capable engineers.

Cons: Verizon Wireless seems to fail at every business outside their core competency. They seem to be wasting tons of money with no results.

Pros: Great health plan benefits and what not.

Cons: Recent layoffs have been a concern.

Pros: It used to be a good workplace.

Cons: The System Performance Department in Midwest’s largest market needs to be unionized. Managers and Directors decide on last-minute fire drills and expect employees to pick up calls right away anytime they call. They seemingly do not know how to leave a voicemail. Management is non-technical and has a policy to harass and intimidate employees. They also have a leadership program for recent college graduates who, after three rotations, are made managers. They hired a guy from this program who had been a manager for barely a year on a different team. He was non-technical but liked to boss around and argue with employees who had been working for decades. He did not learn a simple thing after a year, like how to look up KPIs for sites, and would ask engineers to create PowerPoint presentations for him. He was finally moved to the outer markets of ILWI. The Director isn't much better than the managers and wants engineers to make changes to the network that negatively impact customers, but wants employees to be responsible for any network degradation. They also like to "coach" employees who do not agree with them. Last but not least, there is too much favoritism. They promote their buddies, claiming it's a business need, and favorites can do or work how they want. Additionally, they hire friends of friends as Senior Engineers who have no 4G experience, let alone 5G, which needs a year of training to get up to speed.
