Good benefits: 401k and medical.
Great time off, if you're lucky enough to be grandfathered into the old accrual system.
The company is directionless right now. Buying AOL, Yahoo, and failed projects like Go90. Then the employees are the ones that suffer those bad choices through layoffs and under-compensation as they try to recoup the losses. They're neglecting the network and the employees that support it. Hiring is based on race and gender on a first-come, first-served basis (they claim it isn't, but it's very obvious). So you can imagine what happens when management isn't vetted correctly. So many easy things could be done to at least lessen the pain while the company gets back on their feet, but they just don't do it.
The company is top-heavy with management. They actually need to thin out management all the way up the ladder.
Good interview process. Great company. Had a better opportunity.
It was pretty long but worth it. It was a 5-stage process, but they were pretty comforting throughout the process. Be honest and don't make stuff up because they can find out.
Verizon uses an online application form. It is better to have someone on the inside submit your resume, as this is handled more quickly than if you are trying to apply online. Verizon uses the telephone interview if you are not close to their office
