Cons

No current self-identity.

Poor/old leadership from the CEO down.

Shady HR representatives/tactics.

Quarterly layoffs (at least).

They make you work six 12-hour days a week when their union workers go on strike, or you will be terminated. Also, note you may be relocated away from your family during this time, and you will have to cross the picket line to perform the union workers' jobs.

Conservative corporate culture.

Poor morale.

They frequently downsize US-based groups and outsource their jobs to other countries, such as the Philippines and India.

They are also actively working on increasing automation to take on more of the workload with less human staffing.

Poor training on new products.

Management seems to be stuck in a late 90s and early 2000s mindset.

Favorites are chosen, and they will be the ones who get promoted first and highest STI for the year, no matter your performance.

If you take off on FMLA, there is a good chance you may be impacted on the next layoff when you return.

Their Kool-Aid is strong, and you will be frowned upon if you do not take giant gulps of it.

Some groups have a toxic culture and environment, and the directors and up will sometimes turn a blind eye instead of resolving it. If action is taken, they may ask employees how to correct the problems, but they will not follow through on the suggestions and then blame the employees for the failure.

Advice to Management

Stop faulting or punishing your employees for your poor direction and decisions.
