The engineering culture is toxic. Absentee executive management means very poor communications and coordination across the engineering org. It's cutthroat to try and get a bonus, raise, or promotion.
Verkada is really a sales company with an engineering department; it's far from a tech company. They routinely release products way before they are ready, but as long as it sells, that's all that matters.
Don't buy into the hype of the company valuation. They are basing it off the company being a SaaS, when in fact Verkada is a hardware company, which has a much lower multiple.
Get real experienced executives. Most of the executives are just the founders' buddies who have never done these jobs before.
The 1-hour coding interview is straightforward. One SWE gave a system design question and asked you to code, run, and debug at CodeSignal. The interviewer was happy to give some hints and helped with debugging. There were several follow-up questions
3 rounds, LeetCode style. Overall very standard and typical. No surprises. Very professional. 1st: HackerRank. 2nd: Whiteboard / LeetCode. 3rd: Whiteboard / LeetCode, behavioral.
